SooJin Joung is a Korean contemporary artist whose work explores imagined landscapes shaped by memory, emotion, and nature.
Drawing from flowers, trees, water, and hills, Joung creates vibrant gardens through bold colour, simplified forms, and rhythmic compositions. Rather than depicting specific places, her works bring together fragments of remembered landscapes, creating spaces where nature and human experience gently coexist.
Her paintings invite viewers to pause, reconnect with their own memories and emotions, and discover a landscape of their own.
Joung studied Western Painting at Dankook University and Printmaking at Sungshin Women’s University Graduate School. She has held solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Korea.
